Three Bridges scholars at ABRCMS in Tampa, Florida Posted on: February 11, 2017 Today ABRCMS is one of the largest, professional conferences for underrepresented minority students, military veterans, and persons with disabilities to pursue advanced training in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). ABRCMS attracts approximately 4,050 individuals, including 2,100 undergraduate students.

Three Bridges scholars, led by Prof. Liana Tsenova, attended the conference in Tampa Florida on November 9-12th, 2016 and presented their research projects.

Kimberly-Ann Basdeo, mentored by Prof. Cheryl L. Carmichael, Psychology Department at Brooklyn College, presented “A Field Study of Attachment and Touch”.

Safaa Hassan, mentored by Prof. Qi He, Biology Department at Brooklyn College, presented “Multicolor Cell Labeling Method in Drosophila”.

Nicole Bellaflores-Mejia, mentored by Prof. Mercer Brugler, Biological Sciences Department at City Tech and American Museum of Natural History, presented her work on “Molecular characterization of mesophotic black corals (antipatharians) from the NW Gulf of Mexico”.
